LAND O’ LAKES, Wis. (AP) - A 75-year-old Wisconsin man has died in a snowmobile crash in the northern part of the state.
The Vilas County Sheriff’s Department got a 911 call about the crash in Land O’ Lakes about 10 a.m. Saturday.
According to a preliminary investigation, the victim was operating the snowmobile alone on a marked route when the machine left the roadway on a curve and struck some trees, throwing the man. He died at the scene.
Authorities have not released the victim’s name or hometown.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office meanwhile released the name of another man killed in a snowmobile crash in northern Wisconsin on Saturday. Authorities say 45-year-old Paul Burger of Lockport, Illinois, was killed when the snowmobile he was operating crashed into a tree on a trail.
