BRYANT, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say five people have been killed in a house fire in northwest Alabama.

Jackson County Sheriff Chuck Phillips tells multiple news outlets that the fire occurred around midnight Saturday.

Phillips says the victims are identified as 63-year-old Carolyn Quals, 34-year-old Kimberly Alexander, 42-year-old Tony Alexander, eight-year-old Breanna Alexander and six-year-old Emily Alexander.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
