NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man killed during a New Year’s Day domestic dispute in Newark.

Essex County prosecutors say Bruce Baillou was unresponsive when city police officers found him around 2:10 a.m. Friday in a Spruce Street apartment. The 36-year-old Irvington man was pronounced dead there a short time later.

A cause of death has not been determined. And further details on Baillou’s injuries and the domestic dispute he allegedly was involved in have not been disclosed.

No arrests have been made.

Baillou’s death was the first homicide of the year in the state’s largest city.
