PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh police have charged a man with aggravated assault and other crimes for firing a shot during a dispute over a parking spot, which drew a SWAT response to a downtown parking garage on New Year’s Eve.

Thirty-eight-year-old David Hall allegedly fired the shot into the cement floor after arguing with two women about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Nobody was hurt, but the shooting prompted a major police response coming as it did during the city’s First Night celebration. The event drew tens of thousands of people downtown.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Hall whose address also wasn’t listed. He faces a preliminary hearing Jan. 11.
