GRENNVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Stephen Croone scored 22 points as Furman snapped a three-game slide, routing VMI 85-57 on Saturday.

Croone finished with 6-of-11 shooting from the field and 9-of-9 shooting from the line for the Paladins (7-7, 1-0 Southern). Kris Acox added 15 points and six rebounds. Furman had 11 steals as part of 19 VMI turnovers.

Larry Wideman sank a 3-pointer to cap a 10-0 run that gave Furman a 22-9 lead with 11:27 to go in the first half. The Paladins stretched it to 42-27 at the break.

Croone sank a pair of layups and Daniel Fowler hit a 3-pointer as part of a 14-1 Furman surge to start the second half, giving the Paladins a 56-28 advantage with 16:05 to play. They cruised to the win from there.

Julian Eleby scored 18 points with six rebounds for the Keydets (5-7, 0-1).
