HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A state panel is accepting online comments regarding its recommendations for helping Connecticut children exposed to domestic violence, including cases involving a fatality.

The Task Force to Study the Statewide Response to Minors Exposed to Domestic Violence will hold a public comment period until Jan. 4 on its draft proposals.

The report includes findings and recommendations by task force members on ways to enhance and strengthen a coordinated community response to the children.

It also includes ways to improve the policies and practices of state agencies, the criminal justice system and health care professionals.

The report is available at www.cga.ct.gov/hs/taskforce . The panel has until Jan. 15 to submit its final report to the General Assembly for consideration.

The new legislative session opens in February.
