DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Authorities say a man’s body has been found in a burned house in Danville.

According to media reports, emergency officials in Boyle County say the fire started at about 8 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.

The Danville Fire Department called for extra help from surrounding areas. Fifty firefighters were on scene at one point and the home was heavily damaged. Passers-by had stopped to see if anyone was still inside the burning house but were unable to enter due to flames and smoke.

Authorities say a man was found dead in the home. He has not been identified.

The fire remains under investigation.
