BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore police have identified a man wanted in connection with a fatal fire.

Police said in a statement Friday that as a result of their investigation into a New Year’s Day house fire they have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 59 year-old Alan Floyd.

Police say they were called to the scene of the fire Friday afternoon in the 2300 block of East Madison Street. Police say once on the scene firefighters discovered the body of a 61 year-old female inside the home. The woman, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a witness told investigators that the fire had been deliberately set and that evidence discovered at the scene supported that allegation.
