FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors say authorities seized about $1 million in cocaine from a hidden compartment in a car in northern New Jersey.

The Record newspaper reports (https://bit.ly/1ZSqSn4 ) prosecutors announced Friday that 30-year-old Oscar Junior Mercedes Rodriguez was charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

Authorities say the New York City man was stopped Wednesday while driving in Fort Lee. Investigators searched the car and found an electronically-controlled hidden compartment. Police say they found 10 kilograms of cocaine in there.

It’s unclear if he has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
