MILWAUKEE (AP) - The late Joe Adcock will be honored as the newest member of the Miller Park Walk of Fame this year.

The Milwaukee Brewers said Friday that Adcock received 23 of the 34 votes cast through media and panel voting, or 67.6 percent, exceeding the threshold of 65 percent needed for election. The former Milwaukee Braves first baseman was just one vote shy of election last year.

Adcock spent 17 seasons in the majors, including 10 with the Braves. He batted .285 with 239 home runs and 760 RBIs in 1,207 games with Milwaukee, from 1953 to 1962.

Adcock also was a member of the Braves 1957 World Championship team. He died in 1999.

His induction will take place before a game at Miller Park this summer, to be determined later.
