YORK, S.C. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies in South Carolina say they have charged a suspect in the shooting death of a man who owned a greenhouse in North Carolina.

York County deputies said in a news release that 21-year-old Kevin Mauricio Arita Dejesus was charged with murder Thursday after a two-week investigation in both states.

Investigators say Dejesus shot 64-year-old Jesse Campbell in his Lake Wylie home Jan. 6.

Sheriff’s spokesman Trent Faris says deputies are not releasing whether there is any link between Campbell and Dejesus.

Campbell operated Campbell’s Greenhouse and Nursery on the south side of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Authorities say Dejesus lives in Charlotte and has a passport from Honduras. Deputies are trying to determine if he is in this country legally.

It wasn’t known if Dejesus had a lawyer.
