STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - An investigation is underway after a small plane crashed near Steamboat Springs Airport.

The Steamboat Pilot & Today reports (https://goo.gl/AMFl78 ) the single-engine 1959 Beech K35 lost power after taking off and crashed into a snowy field north of the airport Friday afternoon. The pilot, whose name has not been released, walked away uninjured and declined to talk to the media.

Airport manager Adam Kittinger says the plane is based out of the Steamboat airport.

He has informed the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board about the crash.
