LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) - A central Pennsylvania school board member who was ejected from an elementary school basketball game says his criticism of a referee’s call was “a mistake.”

LNP reported Friday (https://bit.ly/1K1wLqG) that a referee ejected Todd Heckman, a member of the Manheim Township School Board, after he criticized a pair of technical fouls at a halftime during a Saturday game.

Heckman said he should not have made the comment and that the referees acted with their authority to manage the game.

Rick Hartl, secretary of the Lancaster-Lebanon League boys’ basketball organization, described the comment as “unfortunate” but said they were “not anything major.”
