LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt says guard Josh Adams will not start Saturday’s game with Boise State.

However, the 6-foot-2 senior will play in the game.

Shyatt says in a statement released Friday that the decision not to start the team’s leading scorer was because of the technical foul Adams was assessed Wednesday night during the Nevada game.

Adams was called for unsportsmanlike conduct after he waved goodbye to a Nevada player who had just been called for a technical foul.

Shyatt says Adams apologized to the team after the Nevada game. But he said that Adams should make a second apology and not start against Boise State.

Shyatt says Adams is a “tremendous student-athlete and an example-setter for our team.”

Adams is averaging 24.6 points a game this season and has started all 19 games.
