YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - A Yankton man involved in an officer-involved shooting last year has been sentenced to 25 years in the state penitentiary.

The Yankton Press and Dakotan reports (https://bit.ly/1lDaC6r ) 19-year-old Trae Angel was sentenced Friday.

Angel had originally pleaded not guilty to nine counts, but accepted a deal in December in exchange to pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated assault against law enforcement and one count of aggravated assault.

In September, Yankton police responded to a domestic disturbance call involving a gun at a Yankton residence. Officers later found Angel in a downtown alley, where he allegedly threatened to kill officers and pointed a gun at them several times before being shot.

In October, Attorney General Marty Jackley said a probe concluded Officer Jason Foote was justified in shooting Angel.
