TITUSVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Birdwatchers from around the country are flocking to Titusville for the 19th Annual Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival.

Florida Today (on.flatoday.com/1Kwl0DA) reports that the temperate and subtropical climate of the region makes it among the most biologically diverse areas in North America. More than 300 bird species inhabit the area.

Among the most popular birds are pelicans from Canada and the black-throated blue warbler.

The birding festival, based at Eastern Florida State College in Titusville, includes seminars, field trips and exhibits.
