DEMING, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State Police say an Arizona man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a crash.

Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo says the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. Friday just east of Deming on Interstate 10.

According to investigators, a van and a motorcycle were both heading westbound when they somehow collided.

Police say 61-year-old Craig Ammerman, of Tucson, was driving the motorcycle and he suffered serious injuries.

Ammerman was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the van was also injured and has since been treated and released.

Armijo says alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
