BOSTON (AP) - The National Weather Service in Taunton has updated its blizzard warning to include Nantucket and Cape Cod.

The weather service issued the warning around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, and it remains in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday.

Wind gusts up to 65 mph are expected on Nantucket and Cape Cod, along with heavy snow that will create whiteout conditions.

The weather service also issued a blizzard warning for Martha’s Vineyard and Block Island in Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon. Wind gusts up to 60 mph are expected.

A blizzard warning was issued Saturday morning for coastal Connecticut and remains in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday.

The weather service advises people in these areas to stay indoors because of poor visibility.
