COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - A Council Bluffs man has been arrested and jailed on suspicion of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl.

The Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil reports (https://bit.ly/1PLcLoX ) that 50-year-old Manuel Corrales-Rabago was arrested Wednesday and charged the next day with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse. Corrales-Rabago remained in the Pottawattamie County Jail on Saturday in lieu of $50,000 bail and could not be reached for comment.

His public defender, Joseph Reedy, did not immediately return a message left at his office Saturday.

An arrest affidavit says the victim told officials that Corrales-Rabago had performed sex acts on her.

Corrales-Rabago’s preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 28.
