BETTENDORF, Iowa (AP) - A Bettendorf sex offender has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for trying to lure a 4-year-old girl to his home last year.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/1PLeYkd ) that 35-year-old Dale Arihood pleaded guilty in December to enticing a child and failure to comply with sex offender registry requirements.

Police say that in July, Arihood was in an alley behind the home of a family whose three children, ages 2, 4 and 8, were outside. Police say Arihood asked the 4-year-old if she wanted to go to his house. The 8-year-old alerted her parents, and police say a subsequent search of Airhood’s hotel room turned up child pornography and children’s underwear.
