LATROBE, Pa. (AP) - Three people have been charged in last week’s shooting death of a man in what authorities call a botched drug-related robbery.

Authorities in Westmoreland County say 20-year-old Zachery McGrath and two 17-year-old youths are charged in the death of 20-year-old Daniel McNerny, who died after he was found wounded in a Latrobe front yard early Wednesday.

Police allege that the trio planned to rob two men who were coming to the home to sell drugs to one of the youths. They allege that McGrath waited outside and confronted the men as they left, and McNerny - who was apparently unaware of the conspiracy - was shot when he came outside to intervene.

Court documents don’t list an attorney for McGrath and a listed number for him couldn’t be found Saturday.
