COPPERTON, Utah (AP) - A worker was injured after he got pinned by a rail car near Kennecott Refinery in Copperton.

Unified fire officials say the man got caught by a train’s wheels Friday morning near 11501 West and State Route 201.

Kennecott spokesman Kyle Bennett says the man, who is a contracted employee, was working as a switchman near the refinery when his leg got entangled with a rail car.

Bennett says he was airlifted to a hospital.

His current condition was not known.

Rio Tinto officials say the man works as a switchman and moves cars in between tracks.

Products such as copper are transported on those rail lines.
