PROVO, Utah (AP) - A moose has been safely returned to the wild after it had wandered into Provo.

The Daily Herald in Provo reports (https://bit.ly/1OFiAXh ) Provo police say residents and motorists spotted the adult moose strolling in the city’s Riverwoods area Friday morning.

The moose eventually came to rest in front of a business just before 6:30 a.m.

Police cordoned off the area and summoned Department of Wildlife Resources officials.

Wildlife Resources managers used a tranquilizer to put the moose to sleep.

The animal was then loaded onto a trailer and taken back to the wilderness.

Department wildlife biologist Steve Gray says this was the third time this bull has had to be tranquilized and moved.
