SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) - A jury in Northern California has found a mother and son guilty of shooting to death the manager of their apartment building because he was trying to evict them.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports (https://bayareane.ws/1WEDUiw) a jury on Friday found 30-year-old Daniel Cohen and 61-year-old Diana Cohen guilty in the murder of property manager Jonathan Gordon Smith. They face up to life in prison.

Prosecutors say that on Nov. 8, 2013, the Cohens drove a car they were test driving to a storage unit where they retrieved a revolver. They then headed to Smith’s office and waited for hours until he was alone.

Authorities say Daniel Cohen fired four shot at Smith, killing him. The mother and son then returned the gun to the storage unit and returned the car to the dealership.
