CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a man wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run car accident.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for 53-year-old Rigoberto Vasquez whose last-known address is in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

Police say Vasquez didn’t show up for a scheduled bail hearing Friday.

He’s facing charges in the death of 51-year-old Gary Laramee, of Pawtucket, who died Thursday.

Police responded around 3 a.m. Sunday to Roosevelt Avenue in Central Falls. They found Laramee lying in the roadway in critical condition. Witnesses told police a vehicle had hit Laramee and then continued north.

Vasquez was stopped and arrested several blocks away.

He was arraigned and released Tuesday.

He’s charged with driving under the influence, death resulting and other offenses.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Central Falls police.
