GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) - Two roof collapses in Montgomery County caused disruptions during the weekend blizzard but no injuries.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said the roof of a large barn on Sugarland Road in Poolesville collapsed Saturday afternoon, leaving a dozen horses temporarily trapped. Rescue workers freed the trapped horses, but nearly three dozen horses have been displaced as a result of the collapse.

Earlier Saturday, the roof to a utility building at a Gaithersburg condo complex partially collapsed. Piringer said nearly 250 units at the Potomac Oaks condos lost heat and electricity as a result.

Piringer says residents there sheltered in place temporarily until better arrangements could be made.

Gaithersburg officials opened an emergency shelter Saturday afternoon.
