PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The Maine Association of Realtors says sales of existing single-family homes increased 11 percent last year compared to 2014.

The association says the median sale price also rose 3.1 percent and that 15,672 homes were sold in the state over the course of the year. The median price was $180,500. National sales were up 7.7 percent compared to 2014.

The Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/1K1zfW4 ) reports the state’s existing home sales in December were up 15.6 percent from a year earlier. The median price fell by 2.2 percent to $177,750 in that time.
