NEW YORK (AP) - Workers have restored power to more than 22,000 customers whose service was affected by a massive snowstorm blanketing New York City and Long Island.

But PSEG Long Island says that almost 870 customers are still reporting service outages as of Saturday evening.

The utility provides power to about 1.1 million customers across Long Island and the Rockaways, in Queens.

Earlier in the day utility officials said nearly 2,600 customers on Long Island had lost power during the storm.

PSEG says crews will work throughout the night as quickly as they can.

They have asked customers to report disrupted service or downed power lines.
