LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Lincoln police say they have arrested a 17-year-old on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and a weapons count following the shooting of a 14-year-old boy.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (https://bit.ly/1PLgO4t ) that the older teen was arrested Friday night and taken to the Lancaster County Youth Services Center, where he remained Saturday.

Police say officers were called to the north 5th Street just after 8 p.m. Friday for a report of someone being shot.

Police Capt. Don Scheinost says arriving officers found the 14-year-old with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
