DENTON, Texas (AP) - A North Texas pilot has suffered minor injuries after engine trouble forced an emergency landing within yards of some power line towers.

The Denton Record-Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1nfQ05f ) reports David Kinney of Aubrey put the Piper Navajo down Friday afternoon near U.S. 380.

Kinney suffered bumps and bruises in the accident during a routine maintenance flight following takeoff from Denton Enterprise Airport.

The twin-engine plane ended up near some electrical transmission towers in a grassy area near the highway. The aircraft came to rest on its belly.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Lonny Haschel (HASH’-el) says no property was damaged.
