HOUSTON (AP) - Houston’s Dwight Howard was out Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks for a second straight game with a left ankle sprain.

Howard was injured in the first minute of Wednesday’s game and sat out on Friday.

The center had been playing well before the injury and had 10 straight double-doubles entering Wednesday’s game.

Howard is averaging 15.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks a game this season.

Also for the Rockets, point guard Patrick Beverley was scheduled to play Sunday after sitting out the last two games with a sprained ankle.
