MILAN (AP) - Italian comic Beppe Grillo is returning to the stage with a new show next month, but will continue his involvement in politics with the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement that he founded.

Grillo, 67, was quoted by the daily Corriere della Sera on Sunday as saying the show will address how he arrived at founding a political movement and explore ideas for the future. He opens in Milan on Feb. 2 with four dates before transferring to Rome.

Grillo says he never stopped being a comedian, commenting that “it’s your point of view regarding me that changed.” He says his return to the stage wasn’t distancing himself from the movement, just “taking a step to the side.”

The 5-Star Movement was the third-largest force in Italy’s last national election.
