TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Utility companies in New Jersey are reporting that roughly 6,500 customers are still without electricity one day after a powerful winter storm packing high wind and snow battered the state.

But officials say most of them should have their power back by late Sunday night.

Atlantic City Electric says almost 6,000 customers are without power. The outages stretch from Barnegat Beach south to Cape May.

Jersey Central Power & Light says roughly 700 customers were without power, with outages concentrated along the coast from Long Branch to near Barnegat Beach.
