HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Workers at a Huntsville animal shelter say they’re hoping a Valentine’s Day promotion will help make up for a weekend adoption special that was canceled by winter weather.

Humane Educator Will Roberson tells WHNT-TV (https://bit.ly/1SeyHxl) that the storm-related cancellation at Huntsville Animal Services “really set us back.”

Humane Educator Stefany McBride the shelter expect events such as the one canceled over the weekend to help get about 30 to 40 dogs out of the shelter and into homes.

McBride says shelter officials hope to have a Valentine’s Day promotion with $14 adoptions.
