WARSAW, N.Y. (AP) - A western New York man will be on supervised release for a year after pleading guilty under the state’s elder abuse law.

The Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office says 23-year-old Patrick Hardy of Castile can only go to work and approved appointments until next January following his sentencing Friday. He also must pay nearly $13,000 in restitution.

Hardy was arrested a year ago after sheriff’s deputies say he pushed a 72-year-old man to a cement floor during an argument. The victim struck his head and was flown by helicopter to a Rochester hospital.

Hardy pleaded guilty earlier this month to assault.
