BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (AP) - St. Martin Parish sheriff’s deputies say a 17-year-old Breaux Bridge student is accused of having brass knuckles on the high school campus.

In a news release received by The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1OVfsEE), the sheriff’s office says a school resource officer found the brass knuckles in Kalobe Rigney’s possession after someone reported it to authorities.

The crime carries a penalty of up to five years in prison.

Online jail records show Rigney was released to his parents.

Those records do not list an attorney for him.
