ASHDOWN, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas prosecutor says a 17-year-old girl has died after she was shot at a birthday party in Little River County.

Ninth Judicial District Prosecutor Bryan Chesshir says Caitlin Caskey was shot once in the upper body around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when a woman waved and fired an AR-15 rifle in a roomful of kids at a home in Wallace, near Ashdown.

The Texarkana Gazette (https://bit.ly/20qBR3L ) reports that Caskey was pronounced dead at the scene by Little River County coroner Roddy Smith. Her body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Chesshir says the suspect, 41-year-old Tracie Dierks of Wallace, was arrested and remains in the Sevier County Jail. Her bond was set at $100,000 on Tuesday.

The shooting is being investigated by Arkansas State Police.
