PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - The medical examiner has ruled that a man who died after being found unresponsive in a Pittsfield parking lot last weekend died from a gunshot wound to the head.

James Dominguez III, of Springfield, was found in a parking lot behind a bar at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. After police and EMT’s performed CPR at the scene, he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that a car near the scene was riddled with several bullet holes.

Police have not announced an arrest or a possible motive in the killing.

The death was the city’s first homicide of the year and the second in as many months.
