NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a 27-year-old Norfolk man was arrested after belt marks were found on his 7-year-old child’s body.

Police officers were sent to Washington Elementary School on Monday to check the child after school staffers noticed bruises and marks on the child’s body.

Police say the child’s father was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse later in the day. Online court records don’t show that the man has been formally charged.
