SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say they’ve made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man in Syracuse last fall.

The Syracuse Police Department says Friday that 30-year-old Woodrow D. Holmes Jr. was captured Thursday in the city of Troy, near Albany, by a fugitive task force of Syracuse officers, local and state police and the U.S. Marshals.

Authorities say Holmes fatally shot Kingston Ellis early on Nov. 14. Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler says Ellis was shot after confronting Holmes about a domestic dispute.

Holmes has been charged with second-degree murder. He’s being held Friday in the Onondaga County Justice Center pending arraignment.

The district attorney’s office says it didn’t have information on his lawyer yet.
