LEXINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Davidson County man say a Lexington man has been extradited to face charges that he posed as famous photographers and used fake email accounts to get models to send him nude photographs.

The Winston-Salem Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1NFSbo8) the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said 53-year-old Donald Ray Hawkins was extradited to New York Thursday after his arrest on a fugitive warrant charging him with fraud and criminal impersonation.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators with the New York County District Attorney’s office accused Hawkins of opening fraudulent email accounts under the names of Anna “Annie” Leibovitz and Nancy “Nan” Goldin, both well-known photographers in New York. The investigators say Hawkins contacted several female models and asked them to send nude photographs of themselves to the fake email accounts.
