RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A former guard at North Carolina’s women’s prison in Raleigh has been accused of engaging in sex acts with four inmates last summer.

The News & Observer (https://bit.ly/1m053zd ) reports that 32-year-old Bishme Father Desha Allah of Durham surrendered to authorities Wednesday after having been indicted by a Wake County grand jury on six counts of sexual offense with a prisoner. Each charge is a felony, regardless of whether each encounter was consensual.

Allah had worked at the Correctional Institution for Women.

A Corrections Department spokesman says Allah, a probationary officer in his first year of employment, was dismissed from his job on Nov. 24.

Allah had also been a substitute teacher, but Durham school officials say he has since been removed from the district’s list.

It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
