NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve started a homicide investigation after a man’s body was found in a western New York home.

Police in the city of Niagara Falls tell the Niagara Gazette (bit.ly/20xz8pf) that officers were called to a home on Michigan Avenue late Thursday morning after receiving a report that a body of a man had been found inside. Officials say he was the victim of a homicide.

Official say the man had been reported missing by his girlfriend earlier this week.

No other details, the man’s name and the cause of death, have been released.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
