The Huffington Post is adding an editor’s note to all of its future articles on Donald Trump, calling him a “serial liar” and “rampant xenophobe” for his comments against Muslims.

“Note to our readers: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.,” reads the note, which was added to an article about Mr. Trump’s  “war with Fox News” published Thursday night.

A Huffington Post spokesperson told Politico that the note will be added to all future stories about the GOP front-runner.

“Yes, we’re planning to add this note to all future stories about Trump,” the spokesperson said. “No other candidate has called for banning 1.6 billion people from the country! If any other candidate makes such a proposal, we’ll append a note under pieces about them.”

The Post announced in July that it would cover Mr. Trump only as entertainment news, calling his campaign a “sideshow.” The news organization reversed course last month after it became clear Mr. Trump wasn’t going anywhere, but promised to “remind our audience who Trump is and what his campaign really represents.”

A few days later, The Post published a five-step how-to guide for journalists to avoid giving “bigotry” a voice in mainstream media, saying it’s a “duty” to avoid providing “balanced” media coverage for people with extreme viewpoints.
