LAS VEGAS (AP) - Northbound lanes of Interstate 15 near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway have reopened following a crash involving two semi-trucks that was caused by a speeding BMW.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jason Buratczuk said the crash happened about 10 a.m. Friday, closing down the two northbound lanes until about 1 p.m. near Speedway Boulevard.

A BMW tried to move ahead of the two semis but crashed into one, causing the car to roll over and the trucks to collide into one another.

The man driving the car was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say speed was a factor in the crash and the BMW driver has been cited for the unsafe lane change.

All vehicles were disabled and had to be towed.
