WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - One of two men accused of assaulting a woman who was found covered in blood and wandering along a road not far from Williston has pleaded not guilty.

The Williston Herald (https://bit.ly/1PFVNYz ) reports that 22-year-old Williston resident David Mbulu entered not guilty pleas to charges of criminal conspiracy, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder and acting as an accomplice.

Mbulu and 21-year-old Jean-Michael Kisi, of Williston, were charged after Williams County sheriff’s deputies found the 24-year-old woman covered in blood, walking along a road near Epping on Nov. 20. She was eventually airlifted to Minot due to the severity of her injuries.

The woman told deputies she was traveling with the men in a vehicle when an argument ensued and she was assaulted.

Mbulu’s trial is scheduled for Dec. 19.
