PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - Authorities have charged a 22-year-old Umatilla man with murder for fatally shooting another man on Oregon’s Umatilla Indian Reservation.

The East Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1KKvuiJ) that Thadd Nelson was killed Wednesday in Meacham.

The Umatilla man was charged Thursday and is being held on $10 million bail.

Two other men are being held in the county jail in connection with the crime.

Primus said in court Thursday that police had to use a spike strip to stop one of those men and found at least five guns in his possession. He said the man was a convicted felon.

Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus says he can’t provide details of the crime while the police investigation continues.
