PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. (AP) - Police have identified the father and son charged in a wreck that killed a couple during a police chase in suburban Atlanta.

Gwinnett County Police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said in a statement Friday that 47-year-old Larry Thomas and 18-year-old Jesse Thomas - both of Tennessee - face multiple charges. Washington says the incident started as a pursuit by Johns Creek police that crossed into Gwinnett County.

Washington says 78-year-old Elzbieta Gurtler-Krawczynska and 77-year-old Kryzysztof Krawczynski were killed.

Washington says the fleeing vehicle “failed to yield” to police late Thursday night and collided with the second vehicle as it approached an intersection on Peachtree Parkway.

Police say Larry Thomas faces charges for drugs, DUI and vehicular homicide. Jesse Thomas also was handed a number of drug charges.
