RICHMOND, Calif. (AP) - Richmond police say a 2-year-old girl was fatally struck by her father’s car as he pulled out of the family’s driveway.

Lt. Andre Hill tells the San Francisco Chronicle (https://sfg.ly/1nrmppC) the death occurred about 2:20 p.m. Thursday.

Arriving officers found one of the girl’s parents clutching her in their arms.

Police spokeswoman Lt. Bisa French says it was a tragic accident.
