KENLY, N.C. (AP) - Wilson County authorities say they have found 11 dead dogs at an abandoned home in Kenly.

Multiple media outlets reported that sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of dogs running loose Wednesday and found no one home. Officers looking through the window saw two dead dogs.

After obtaining a search warrant, officers went inside and found nine more dead dogs at the home.

Another 10 dogs and two iguanas were found alive. The surviving animals are being treated at the Wilson County Animal Shelter.

Deputies are looking for Jimmy Carroll Williams Jr. and Patricia Ann Williams, whom they san abandoned the property. Power and water to the home had been turned off Jan. 19.

Deputies have obtained warrants with more than 60 charges against the couple.
